The Douglas F4D / (F6A) Skyray was a single seat carrier based ingerceptor which was first delivered in 1954. In 1962 the type was redesignated the F6A and in 1964 the type was withdrawn from service. 419 were built.

The aircraft could reach speeds of Mach 1.05 and weighed 27,000 pounds.
