The A-26 had essentially a one man cockpit.
The pilot sat on the left side of the fuselage and a small
passageway ran along his right side up towards the front.
There was a fold down seat on the right side which an
observer/copilot could use.
This is all that remains of the original cockpit of the
Pueblo museum's A-26C. Years of neglect, vandals and the
elements have taken their toll. Nevertheless, the Pueblo
museum has plans to restore this aircraft in a manner similar
to that done on the B-29.
The A-26C cost $192,000 new. Recently, a flyable A-26 was
offered for sale at $500,000.00.
Richard Dreyfus flew an A-26 in the movie "Always".
